Causes and solutions for peeling on injection molded parts
Published: 2023-09-16
During injection moulding, a low mould temperature, incompatible melt, contaminants or an unclean barrel can lead to peeling or delamination on the product surface. Check the following causes and remedies:
1. Incompatible material remains in the barrel. Thoroughly clean the barrel.
2. Other materials have mixed with the feed. Inspect or replace the raw material.
3. The mould or melt temperature is too low. Raise the mould and melt temperatures appropriately.
4. Back pressure is too low and plasticisation is poor. Increase back pressure to improve melt quality.
5. Oil or water is present in the mould. Clean the affected surfaces.
6. Too much release agent has been sprayed. Avoid using release agent where it is unnecessary.
